Kregnes
Kregnes offers 3.7 kilometres of prime salmon fishing divided into three zones, where zone 1 and 2 is double bank , making it the longest continuous stretch of fishing water on the Gaula. This provides a unique opportunity to experience a large and varied section of the river, with numerous different pools that allow you to plan and adapt your fishing from day to day.
The beat is well known for its large Atlantic Salmon and the great variety of fishing it offers. There are pools that fish well at both high and low water, making Kregnes an exciting destination throughout the season. The many different pools, currents and water conditions provide excellent opportunities for traditional two-handed fly fishing, allowing you to adapt your approach according to water level, weather and where the salmon are holding.
Each of the three zones has its own Gappahütte, providing shelter where you can take a break and keep an eye on the river. There are also two boats available for crossing the river, giving easy access to different parts of the beat. On Zone 3, you will find a large covered dining area where you can relax, enjoy a meal and share the day's fishing experiences.
One of the great advantages of Kregnes is that the entire fishing area can be reached on foot. There is no need to drive between different sections of the beat, allowing you to move along the river and explore the water at your own pace.
You decide how you want to divide the fishing among the group and where each angler wants to fish. This gives you the freedom to organise each day according to water levels, conditions and personal preferences. Some days you may choose to focus on specific pools, while on other days you can explore the entire beat and fish a variety of water.
In short, Kregnes is a salmon fishing destination for anglers who appreciate big salmon, varied water, excellent fly-fishing opportunities and the freedom to plan their own fishing experience.
